I'd rather be Lost on the Water than Found at Home!

Greetings!

I recently aquired a MFG WESTFIELD. Can anyone help me with it's age?

Is the 80 hp Mecury outboard original for this boat?

The trailer appears to be original. Any helpful comments?

The Mercury merc 800 Thunderbolt appears to be a 1969 or 1970 (serial # starts with 266). So, I assume the boat is the same year, although it has an 80 hp outboard. I cannot find a WESTFIELD model that swung a 80 hp. All I found was 70 hp.

I figured out model and age of mine by looking through the old literature at http://www.fiberglassics.com/library/MFG.

thanks for the reply. I looked but couldn't find a WESTFIELD in any year that had an 80 hp engine. maybe it was an option. I dunno.

back then the purchaser had a choice of what engine he wanted to power his boat with, same as today. some dealers offered package deals with the boat and engine together, but overall it was up to the buyer as to what hp engine he wanted, up to the allowable limit.  ron
