Photo Gallery - how to

I figured I'd post something here on how to use the Glassic Online Photo Gallery since I've been getting a few requests for "how to's".

You have to be logged in to use most features of this site, including the Photo Gallery.

Once you are logged in, please post a nice shot of your boat or boats in the "Member's Boats" album. I rotate these through the slide show on the front page every so often, and it saves alot of time and lets me know you want your boat featured if it's in this album.

Then start you own album or as many as you would like. You can have an album for each boat or each restoration project. If you've got some pictures from a show, start an album and show them off. Drop me a line and I'll feature the album on our "Glassics Meets" page.

The Photo Galleries are a nice addition to this site, make sure you try the full screen slide show feature, sit back and enjoy!

Online Albums

Update, 12/15/10, We've changed the Online Photo Album to a standard webpage for easier formatting and a smoother look, I'll leave the other page up in case anyone wants to try adding to the Wiki.

If you post anything there that you want added to the main Online Photo album page, it would probably be a good idea to send us a message. Thanks.

We've recently added a new feature to the site showcasing various online photo albums.

If you know of an album that you feel should be included, either contact the site or feel free to add it yourself.

The "Online Album" page is a wiki page which means it's open to all members to add content.

If you need any help adding content, please contact us or use the forums to post a question.

As always, this is your site, so anything we can do to make it easier for you, or any feature you would like added, please let us know.

Another interesting new app for the site.

This app shows the last ten visitors to the site and where they entered the site from.

It's a live feed reader linked up with Facebook somehow.

I found it on the Forgotten Fiberglass site.

More on this site later, but it's a pretty cool site with some classic fiberglass cars that are almost as obscure as our old boats.

Anyway, hope you all are enjoying the site, let me know if there is anything specific you would like to see in the future.

Something new here you may have noticed, let's give it a try.

Now when you go to the site you will see a Facebook logo at the top under the "Members Area" header. When you click "sign in with Facebook ID", you will be brought to your Facebook page and you can login from there. Then if you post something here, the site will give you the option of posting an update on Facebook as well.

Let's give it a try. This may be interesting.

Of course you can opt to sign in as usual and not go through Facebook.

Motors and Racing History Page

The Motors and Racing History Page is up.

Been working on it a little as time permits.

Let me know if you have any comments, and as always, if you have something to add contact us or add it yourself on our Wiki Page.

Still lots more to add.

Looking for any old boat history information.

I think I may have access to some old advertisements and possibly some brochures, so I'll post those as soon as I get a chance to follow up on that. It will be a slow process as I'll have to scan them all myself.

Wiki Page- The wiki page is available for members to add content to the site. We will create an index on the resources page to link directly to the various sub pages.

Research Section with WIKI

The new Research section has been put in place. For now just a basic foundation, with Kelly from FiberGlassics graciously providing links to his Research Library. Thanks Kelly.

More info will be added very soon. Other online resources will be included as soon as permissions are secured.

Non Online information will also be added.

There will be WIKI pages made available to anyone that requests one. Information may also be copied from the Historical Section of the Forums.

Hi All,

I'm wanting to try a little something different with this new website. I'm hoping that with all of you helping, we can make this something special. I'm counting on you all to help make this work, share your opinions, and help make this a great site.

First I want to say to Kelly, Thank you. For getting me and many others interested in this Hobie in the first place. For showing me and others that there are others out there that are just about as nuts about boats as I am. Kelly, I Believe you are planning on going somewhere else with your website other than the whole Forum hosting thing, and I respect your decision. I believe there is still a place out there for a well run Forum. I'm hoping that the rest of you agree.

There has been talk recently of trying the re-unite the fractured Fiber Glass Boating World. Maybe this can be the thing that does that. I'd like to provide a forum, (and Forums) to do just that. If it works, Great. If it doesn't, then so be it. I will dedicate that I will try my best.

I'm putting A new Historical Section in the Forums. Hopefully I can get some of you Classic Wood and Fiberglass Boat experts to contribute. we will be adding a new forum soon. At this point I am looking at the vBulletin® Version 3.8.2, which is pretty much the best out there. I will be able to copy any info from the existing "Temporary forums" onto that forum, Or if you save a copy, you can do it your self. Transferring pictures will be more time consuming.

I'm going to be workin on the artwork for the main page in the coming weeks, but since the basic platform is up, I figured I would share it now.
